Anyone who has ever been dumped knows how hurtful and embarrassing it can be. Not only do you feel that you were cheated out of a perfectly good relationship, but you instinctively start trying to figure out ways to get your ex to want you again. While there is no guarantee that your ex boyfriend will want to date you again, there are some things you can do to help him remember the great times you had together as a couple. Follow the four “be’s” to win your man back and give love a second chance.

-Be nice. Let’s be honest, no one wants to be with someone who is mean to them. So, if you want your guy back, you’re going to have to go out of your way to be nice to him. Guess what, you need to be nice to other people as well. Guys want girls who are nice and who aren’t constantly being catty and backstabbing other people. Guys would prefer not to be involved in your girl drama, and although they might not tell you to chill and “save the drama for your mama”, they don’t want to be involved with all of your Gossip Girls/Hills-esque drama. Be nice, and mean it, and if you don’t mean it, he will be able to tell.

-Be girly. Guys can’t help but go weak in the knees when a girl is doing what she does best, being a girl. So if you want your man back, throw on some high heels, a cute dress, your favorite perfume and some pretty lip gloss and walk up to your ex and strike up a conversation. But before you talk to him, walk past him and talk to another guy, and another guy and another guy. Ok, now you’re ready to talk to your ex. When he sees your ultra feminine side and realizes that you won’t be waiting around for him to take you back, he’ll feel privileged when you finally “make time” to talk to him.

-Be confident. If you’re constantly talking about how horrible you are, and always relying on someone else to boost your confidence, then it’s not surprising that your ex dumped you. A guy wants to be your boyfriend, not your life coach. He doesn’t want to constantly assure that you aren’t fat and that your hair looks ok. You’d be surprised how many details guys don’t actually pay attention to until girls mention them. Act completely sure of yourself, and your ex will be attracted to your confidence and he’ll want to spend more time with you.

-Be yourself. Remember that when he asked you initially, he liked you for who you were. On your quest to win him back, don’t turn into a totally different person (unless you were mean, at which point, see the first point, “be nice”). By being the girl he fell in love with, it will help him to remember that the two of you make a great team, and before you know it, he’ll be begging you to take him back.
